The Letter J

She would dye her hair
For every boy that ever
Caught her eye
I would die to care,
To feel her paisley stare,
But it's a lie.

While it eats me up
To see her crawl away,
And don't know what I should do,
I just know I can't stay

She said that
"He don't make the effort anyway",
And that I'm the one to take the pain away.
I say, "I just want you to come home at night.
Wherever you go, bring me as your light."

But I can't answer to the problems she's found;
All one man can do is pass his few coins around
And get himself lost in what may or will be,
Then lose his shot on the grain made for me.

While it eats me up
To see her crawl away,
And don't know what I should do,
I just know I can't stay

She would lay it down
For every boy that ever
Lied that he cared.
She's too stupid to see
That the liar ain't me,
And lies ain't getting her nowhere.
